Harry Potter and the Half-Blood Prince
As all of you HP fans should now know, JK Rowling has recently released her 6th book of the Harry Potter series. I'm also sure you've all rushed to get a copy and have read it by now. If anyone reading this has not, I strongly suggest you do so. In Harry's 6th year, the war with Voldemort becomes much more noticable even to the point where Muggles begin to see the very strange happenings, Fred and George develop their buisness, the student of Hogwarts find a bit of romance, and Harry learns of the story of Voldemorts life. So, go read!!!

Goblet of Fire Movie
Now that you've all read the 6th book, until the next and final book comes out all we really have to do is make obsessive theories and go see the movies as usual. The next installment in the HP series is Harry Potter and the Goblet of Fire, as most of you know, which will be released to theaters on November 18th. The movie, though its book counterpart which was much longer than the previous books, will be two and a half hours long just as the first three movies. I know all of you true Potter fans are roling your eyes at this fact, yes I know, I am too. I've also heard that the whole storyline with Dobby and Winky has been taken out along with quite a few other parts that you may remember from the book. Lets hope they don't forget anything important like they did in PoA with the backstory of the Marauders, which had me dissapointed for monthes. Besides dramatic cuts, I can still see the movie being good, though I'm sure I'll be much more happer reading it.
Rowling's 3rd Child
On Sunday, January 23, JK Rowling gave birth to a baby girl, whom she and husband Neil decided to name Mackenzie Murray.
Rowling earlier stated, "I am really delighted....I always wanted three children, so I could not be happier."
Congratulations Ms. Rowling!!!
Newbies of GoF

Its been reported that Richard Fish, a 24-year-old English Lit student at the University of Hertfordshire in Hatfield, UK, who had stood in the Weasley family picture in Egypt as Bill Weasley has been cast again as Bill in the 4th movie. Also, Alex Crockford, the young actor who stood as Charlie has been signed for the next Harry Potter movie.
Miranda Richardson (The Hours, Sleepy Hollow, The Crying Game) will play the conniving journalist Rita Skeeter in the Harry Potter and the Goblet of Fire movie..

My PoA Movie Review
As you all know, the third installment of the Harry Potter series, Harry potter and the Prisoner of Azkaban, was released on June 4. For all of you HP fans with high expectations of this movie, I'll tell you what I liked and didn't like about this movie.
In my opinion, this movie was a bit of disappointment. Right from the beginning, the movie lacked the "magic" of Ms. Rowling's series, in both ways. The wizarding world seemed too much like the muggle world and with the overuse of muggle clothes, it only pushed it too far. Also, director Alfonso Cuaron crossed the line with the use of excessive darkness. The once golden background that defined Hogwarts seemed dead and with Richard Harris gone (god bless him), the movie seemd to loose its spirit. Though the third book was darker, Hogwarts has always remained the place we know and love. Another problem with Cuaron's movie is that it didn't even explain that the mauraders were Harry's dad, James Potter and his friends Lupin, Black, and Pettigrew. He only implied it by the fact that Lupin knew how to use it. The movie also didn't explain why Harry's patronus was a stag.
Don't get me wrong, the movie was good and well written, but it just didn't have the heart of the book. If I hadn't been a Harry Potter fan, I most likely would have loved this movie, but as one I found it a little too dark (literally dark) and incomplete.
